Yes...
… and crochets, weaves, braids and designs.
Every headline, letter to the editor, article, advertisement shapes this material.
Culture, sport, business, hatred, death and birth are interwoven - journalism in concentrated form.
A tangle that needs to be unraveled.
One day it is up-to-date, the next it is already old and worn.
Information is to be expected, in the end fish and flowers are packed with it.
Letters become something whole, only to be torn apart again.
Most of it is created at night and sees life in the morning.
So I take the information and preserve it in my own way.
Letters, pictures, faces blink through here and there.
I cut a newspaper into even strips, glue them all together one after the other, and get a long, thin ribbon. I spin this into a thread with the help of a hand spindle, depending on the thickness of the strips into different yarns.
I use this yarn to crochet wearable garments - preferably jackets and skirts.
